4 HOUR TOUR
A few snippets of our 4 Hour Tour, however this booking is totally tailored to your requirements. You will learn about our culture, local stories and interesting facts from our private guide/driver’s commentary on the day.
Auckland is home to many Polynesian people. Learn about Māori history or immerse in our Maori Culture Show, at the Auckland War Memorial Museum (optional). Explore Waitemata Harbour and the Auckland Volcanoes, including Rangitoto. In 1841, Parnell became New Zealand's first suburb with historic buildings still standing on Parnell Rd.
Drive through Wynyard Quarter to Westhaven Marina. Cross the Harbour Bridge for a city skyline view. Return over the bridge. Drive along Jervois and Ponsonby Roads, viewing the highlights. Continue to Mt Eden (Maungawhau in maori) for a 20-minute walk up the extinct volcano, offering stunning views. Head to Mountain Rd, passing Auckland Boys Grammar (school of Sir Edmund Hillary) to the Auckland Domain and Auckland Museum. Drive past the High Court and old government house on university grounds. Along Stanley St, up Parnell Rise, to Holy Trinity Cathedral, Paritai Drive showcasing some of our most expensive houses and the million dollar view. Drive along the waterfront to Kohimaramara and St Heliers, reaching Achilles Point for scenic views of the harbour. Alternatively, visit Bastion Point, where Labour Prime Minister Michael Joseph Savage is buried. Driving over to Devonport (if time permits, depending on the time of the day driving over the Harbour Bridge).
We may even have time to squeeze in the West Coast - either Piha and Muriwai Beach which you might be lucky to see our Gannet Colony that travel to and from Australia each year for nesting - there is also black sand, surf and short walks.
